Three metrics in plain language
LCP measures when the main large element appears; INP measures response to interactions; CLS measures unexpected layout shifts. These describe experience rather than page size alone.
What good values mean
Google’s targets are LCP at most 2.5 seconds, INP at most 200 ms and CLS at most 0.1, evaluated at the 75th percentile of real visits. A laboratory test helps diagnosis but does not replace user data.
What we improve
We optimise images, fonts, server responses, caching and JavaScript and reserve space for media and widgets. We prioritise visitor impact. Speed improvements do not guarantee a particular search ranking.
