What HTTP/2 and HTTP/3 change
These are versions of the protocol used to transfer web pages. HTTP/2 multiplexes streams over one connection. HTTP/3 uses QUIC and can handle packet loss and network changes better, particularly on mobile connections.
What is required
Support from the server or CDN, HTTPS and a compatible browser. HTTP/3 also needs reachable UDP port 443. If a network blocks QUIC, HTTP/2 or HTTP/1.1 should remain available.
Where it helps
The result depends on network conditions, resource count and server response. We measure before enabling a protocol and check compatibility afterwards. Protocol changes complement image and code optimisation.
