How alerts work
Checks run at agreed intervals. An incident alerts a responsible person, rather than simply arriving in a shared inbox. Critical services can be checked from several locations to help distinguish a local connection problem from a wider outage.
What to agree first
Define checks, notification channels and response responsibilities. Monitoring detects an issue but does not automatically resolve it; maintenance and on-call coverage need a separate agreement.
